Recently spent my birthday weekend at Garleton Lodge and have to say the experience was amazing.

It was all arranged as a surprise for my 30th but on the journey to garleton lodge i knew i was in for something special with the views that surrounded the area.

Our stay was friday to sunday with a mixture of adults and young children but Angela and David were always on hand to be the perfect hosts.

Breakfasts, buffet meals and a bbq over the weekend and all food was delicious. All homemade by Angela herself using local produce. Not a shock to hear of the ‘taste our best’ award from VisitScotland.

The rooms at the lodge are beyond luxurious. A mattress that makes it feel like sleeping on a cloud. Best nights sleep i think i have had. Little touches in the room such as the homemade shortbread ( another delicious creation from Angela ), a wee dram of whisky to match the room name and all the usual tea/ coffee facilities with the added bonus of a Nespresso machine as well.

The lounge has a well stocked bar with a variety of drinks and also a large selection of whiskies which David is well versed in and happy to help you choose the right one for you.

The lodge also has a hot tub but weather wasn’t favourable this time for a dip but the newly built snug is something to be enjoyed. Unspoilt views of the east coast all wrapped up warm in front a fire is a good way to watch the sunset.

I can’t thank Angela and David enough for their hospitality over the weekend.

I am positive that it will not be my last visit to garleton lodge
